Meet Jerry Greenspan

Jerry has a very special combination of real world experience coupled with an eclectic academic background. In the mid 1980s, Jerry rehabbed with and then interned under nationally acclaimed sports rehabilitation guru, Bob Gajda.

Since 1994 Jerry has been the president of Columbus Fitness Consultants and Exercise Equipment Experts and has been invited to present locally and nationally on fitness, fitness equipment and nutrition.

Mr. Greenspan authored the column “Inside Workout” in Inside Sports’ Home Gym and Fitness Magazine from ’94 – ’98. Jerry performed research on the mechanics of human movement for over five years in two prestigious biomechanics laboratories at Ohio State University in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Jerry has graduate degrees from Ohio State University in mechanics of human movement (i.e. biomechanical engineering), human nutrition and physical therapy as well as has an extensive background in exercise physiology and is trained in muscle activation techniques (MAT therapy). He also holds dual undergraduate degrees in engineering and pre-medical sciences with top academic honors from University of South Florida in Tampa.

After spending 25 years in the health and fitness industry, Scott’s mission has always been to bring this “wealth” to life for his clients. In Scott’s career the focus has always been to ensure that his clients receive the training, the right equipment and results they have been looking for. Having spent a portion of his career on the manufacturing side of the fitness equipment business, Scott really does understand what it takes to develop, design and produce a quality product.

Andrew graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2011, and again with a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2014. He began his career with Columbus Fitness Consultants in January of 2011 and has studied exercise mechanics under Jerry Greenspan for nearly 10 years. In 2015, Andrew completed his year-long Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) specialist training and continues using a combination of MAT and advanced therapeutic/sport-specific exercise training to maximize his clients’ goals at any level of function. Since 2015, Andrew has enjoyed extensive training across the country in many of the newest cutting-edge techniques such as six courses toward a Masters-Level certification in MAT, seven courses on the use of Frequency Specific Microcurrent in both high-level athletics as well as rehabilitation specialties, and the pairing of blood-flow restriction techniques with strength training to maximize strength gains while minimizing joint pain.

SARAH WILSON: Premier Plus

Sarah Wilson has been a team member of Columbus Fitness Consultants since her second year of Physical Therapy school at Ohio State. She started out as a personal trainer during graduate school and began working as a clinician at CFC after completion of her clinical doctorate in 2017.

As a clinician, Sarah is able to combine rehabilitation with an individual’s goals, whether it be overall health and fitness or quality of life, enabling complete patient-centered care.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys being active…generally 😊 She likes to go for hikes – anywhere from central Ohio trails to out west and Seattle while visiting her Mom. Her husband is currently completing a medical degree, so she sneaks in spending time with him whenever he is able to take a break from studying. She’s also a big sports fan with her first true love being the Ohio State Buckeyes. If you don’t see her at a sporting event or on a local trail, you’ll find her spending time with her family and friends.

Meet Jonathan Dixon P+


Jonathan Dixon is a Certified Athletic Trainer who trained at The Ohio State University. He has been working with Columbus Fitness Consultants since August 2016. While at OSU, he had the privilege to work with many of the teams in the athletics department, especially the men’s Ice Hockey team. This experience has given him a great understanding of the mindset of the elite athlete and what it takes to excel.

Jonathan has a passion for fitness (specifically powerlifting) and athletics, and he aims to use it to help individuals trying to succeed in their fitness/wellness goals. At Columbus Fitness Consultants, he has been able to diversify his work in Athletic Training and apply it to several of the therapeutic fields at CFC including Muscle Activation Techniques, Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and other treatment modalities. He finds that his own personal experiences with injuries inspires and drives him to help clients achieve their own specific goals as injury-free and efficiently as possible.

When not at work, Jonathan is an avid gamer and loves outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and now practicing rock wall climbing. He loves to challenge co-workers and clients to fitness challenges and would love to hear what you have in mind!

Meet Jake Pijor


Jake is a Certified Athletic Trainer who spent his educational career at The Ohio State University for his undergraduate degree and at The University of Idaho for his graduate degree in Exercise Science. Because of his injury-ridden journey through his own athletic career, he chose Sports Medicine as his profession. He is very passionate about returning athletes and other patients alike to a pain-free and functional state. He is a newlywed! And enjoys exercise, good food, and walks with his dog, Charlie. Jake enjoys sports – his favorite being football, and he is a diehard Ohio State fan!

Meet Katie Watkins


Katie was born and raised on a farm on the southwest side of Columbus. Her love for the outdoors and exercise started very young being a farm girl and a competitive cheerleader and gymnast. She started working at Columbus Fitness Consultants in the spring of 2017 after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health. She continued on to earn a Masters of Science in Allied Health and Exercise Science in 2019 at Otterbein University. She loves meeting new people and working with an awesome team that brings exercise and fitness to a whole new level of safety, precision and fun. Outside of work, Katie enjoys playing with her dog, hiking, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Meet Luke Whittenberger


Luke was first introduced to resistance training in high school, and it has been an important part of his life since. With a desire to learn more about strength training and exercise in general, he attended Kent State and majored in Exercise Science. While at Kent, he also started his personal training journey. He quickly realized he wanted to learn more about the rehabilitation side of exercise and chose to continue his education in Ohio State’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Wishing to further expand his knowledge of the relationship between exercise and rehabilitation, he began working at Columbus Fitness Consultants way back in 2019 and the rest is history. Luke says that in his free time he enjoys training for powerlifting, drinking coffee, reading very boring books, and consuming the fine entertainment that online television streaming services provide.

Meet Jessie Edwards


Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jessie graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Pre-Physical Therapy. While at BW, she competed on the varsity track and field team in the triple jump and long jump, and has recently taken up rock climbing. Jessie is currently a student in Ohio State’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program with clinical interests in pelvic health and orthopedics.

Meet Kyle Macmillan


Kyle has a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology from Miami University of Ohio and is currently working on his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The Ohio State University. Kyle has been a personal trainer for over two years before arriving at Columbus Fitness Consultants, and utilizes a holistic approach to help clients reach their goals. He is passionate about helping others get to a level of fitness and health that allows them to use their unique gifts to the very best of their ability. Kyle has competed at a high level in soccer, swimming, track, cross country, and triathlons. He loves to travel abroad, go on mission trips, and be outside.

Meet Caleb Reed


Caleb Reed recently received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University in 2020. While attending Ohio State, Caleb assisted in a research study called CLIP-OA, designed to gather data on the effects and benefits of exercise on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, leading to his desire to help improve the health of others. During his last semester at Ohio State, he got the opportunity to gain a great deal of experience and knowledge through an internship at Columbus Fitness Consultants and is excited to stay with the company as a full-time personal trainer. He is excited to have the opportunity to continue learning from and with the knowledgeable staff and continue to improve the lives of clients with CFC.
