Physical Medicine to Get You Moving Again
Many people go through life with dysfunctional movement patterns, which ultimately result in pain or injury after years of wear and tear. Pain and inflammation are actually the last step of dysfunction before an injury and are poor ways to evaluate if something is wrong in the body. If there is pain this means the tissue is already at the end of the injury spectrum.
Most people, as well as the current medical system paradigm, evaluate the body's healthy tissue vs. injured tissue by using pain as a diagnostic tool. We care for our cars using a “check the engine light” to alert us that some preventative maintenance is required to avoid larger dysfunctions to follow if nothing is addressed. But, when it comes to the human body, pain is not a check engine light so we need to be proactive. A diagnostician who is experienced in developing preventative treatment and training programs, can highlight range of motion loss and lack of muscular stability before it causes pain and dysfunction. These markers would actually be the check engine light, but we need an expert to find them. This is CFC's goal -- to help people avoid injuries all together.
